Goal: To define compulsive gambling behaviors, assessment tools, family of origin issues & treatment strategies.

Objective:

• The student will be able to describe the difference between compulsive gambling and problem gambling behaviors.
• The course student will be able to discuss the South Oaks Gambling Screen, to examine the influence of family traits and behaviors and to create an effective treatment and after care plan.
• They will be able to distinguish between cognitive therapies and a 12-step approach to treatment.
