Gambling – Ethics & Treatment
Goal: The goal of this course is to identify ethical concerns and treatment strategies for treating pathological gamblers.
Objective:
- Differentiate treatment needs and ethical concerns between pathological gambling and other addictive disorders.
- Discuss the major ethical differences revolving around financial responsibility, debt repayment, and counsellors sensitivity to these issues.
- Discuss the special treatment needs of the gambler like leisure time activities & repayment of debt will be of major focus.
- Explain how techniques like REBT, Grief Recovery & the use of imagery are beneficial treatment strategies.
